Three GPX tracks to download and load onto your watch or bike computer. Each track serves several races.
Laps of 750 m in the lagoon, Australian exit. The track is identical for all swimming races.
The GPX file is a track recorded during a reconnaissance swim, not a measurement of the course: the swimmer did not hold a straight line between the buoys, so it reads 1.67 km. The official distance remains 1,500 m, measured between the buoys.

In 2020 a small group of triathlon friends was training for the 0-3000 Triathlon in Reunion. With the borders closed, they designed a race in Mauritius with a comparable challenge: over 2,100 metres of climbing, Chamarel and Bassin Blanc on the bike, Parakeet on the trail.
On 25 July 2020, the Casseconfi Triathlon became the first sports event organised in Mauritius after the first national confinement.
FMTri, FMN, FMC or RTN licence depending on the race. Waiver and medical certificate accepted for some events.
Seven starts, one Sunday. The festival brings together swimmers, cyclists, mountain bikers, trail runners and triathletes under one event.
The ultimate endurance challenge.
1.5 km open-water swim in the lagoon of Le Morne. Two laps of 750 m, Australian exit after the first lap.
Le Morne → Chamarel → Fantaisie → Baie du Cap → Bel Ombre → Gaston → Chamouny → Bassin Blanc → Plaine Champagne → T2 Parakeet Antenna.
The route combines demanding climbs, technical descents and spectacular scenery.
Start from T2 at Parakeet Antenna. Descend to the Black River Gorges parking area before returning for a spectacular finish at Parakeet.
The swim section is identical to the Casseconfi Triathlon. The difference lies in the bike section, which becomes a mountain bike adventure through the forests surrounding Bel Ombre.
1.5 km open-water swim at Le Morne.
Le Morne → Chamarel → Fantaisie → Baie du Cap → Bel Ombre → Watook Climb → T2 Parakeet Antenna.
Same course as the Casseconfi Triathlon.
1500 m: two laps of 750 m, Australian exit after the first lap, simultaneous start with the triathlon races.
3000 m: four laps of 750 m, Australian exit on each lap.
Combo: swimmers may register to both events (Combo 1500/3000).
MTB race: Le Morne → Chamarel → Fantaisie → Baie du Cap → Bel Ombre → Watook → Parakeet Antenna.
One of Mauritius' most spectacular mountain bike challenges combining endurance, technical riding and stunning natural scenery.
Start at the Paille en Queue trail entrance. Climb through Parakeet, descend to the Black River Gorges parking area before turning around for a spectacular summit finish at Parakeet.
A short but intense trail challenge featuring one of Mauritius' most scenic finishes.
Members of FMN, FMC, RTN and licensed FMTri athletes may participate in relay teams. The relay format allows specialists from each discipline to experience the triathlon challenge together.
The team completes the entire triathlon in the official sequence: swim → bike (road) → run. One athlete completes two disciplines:
1 swimmer, 1 cyclist, 1 trail runner: each athlete completes his or her specialist discipline. Athletes registering individually may be matched with others to form relay teams.
Duathletes may participate by being paired with a swimmer to form a relay team. This option allows cycling and running specialists to experience the Casseconfi challenge without completing the swim section.
The 2026 edition marks the 40th anniversary of the Mauritius Triathlon Federation. The poster lists the six races, the distances and the start times.

Casseconfi means Breaking the Confinement.
In 2020, while the world was under confinement, our small group of triathlon friends in Mauritius kept on training with the view to participating in one of the most challenging mountain triathlons in the world, the 0-3000 Triathlon in Reunion, which includes 3000 metres of climbing on bike and trail to the ceiling of the Indian Ocean.
Unfortunately, while the confinement rules in Mauritius were gradually relaxing, there were no signs that we would be allowed to fly to Reunion.
This was when we imagined designing a race with 2100 metres of climbing that would include the toughest road bike climbs of Mauritius — Chamarel and Bassin Blanc — coupled with the toughest trail climb of Parakeet. So the Casseconfi Triathlon was born.
The bike track had to be modified as the Chamarel road was under repair. The Chamarel climb was replaced by Fantaisie, ridden up and down, keeping the demanding character of the race.
Access to the Black River Gorges was prohibited for the trail run due to a heavy rain alert. The run course was modified: a road run from Parakeet to the Rhumerie de Chamarel and back.
Casseconfi returned to its original track. It will be the case again in 2026.
The major innovation in 2026 is the collaboration between the Mauritius Triathlon Federation (FMTri), the Mauritius Swimming Federation (FMN), the Mauritius Cycling Federation (FMC) and Rando Trail & Nature (RTN).
This cooperation turns Casseconfi into a real festival of endurance sports, bringing several disciplines together in one event while encouraging the discovery of triathlon and the development of outdoor sports in Mauritius.
The festival is held annually on the first or second Sunday of September.
Bib collection and marking on site from 6h45 depending on the race.
Black River Gorges National Park. Prize giving from 12h00 depending on the race.
The Casseconfi Festival is organised by the Mauritius Triathlon Federation together with the Mauritius Swimming Federation, the Mauritius Cycling Federation and Rando Trail & Nature.
